![]() Digital data is converted from servers (or computers) to other servers. Unlike frequency, data travel is digital not analogue. One Mb which is a “megabit” is equal to 10^6 bits or 1,000 000 bits. Mbps stands for “megabits per second.” This term defines the speed of packet data being transferred along a network line. Processor frequency determines how many Instructions Per Clock the CPU can process which accordingly affects system performance. The higher the frequency is for a given CPU, the faster the processor is. A processor frequency specifies the operating (internal) frequency of a CPU’s (Central Processing Unit) core. Hz (hertz) is the unit of frequency, and 1 MHz is equivalent to 10^6 Hz.Īlthough being a property of a wave, this term is used in computer processors also. Where “F” is the frequency, “v” is the velocity with which the wave travels and “λ” is the wavelength of the wave. By “frequency,” we mean the rate by which a wave would travel per second. MHz or “megahertz” is a term used for measuring frequency. Now let us see clarified the differences between the two. Actually, MHz and Mbps do not have any direct relation with each other since they originate from very different parts of science and technological terms themselves. But the terms do not directly relate to computers and create a myth about transmission logs. This is most probably because they are related to computers themselves. Sample task: convert 32 megabytes to megabits (SI).In the dimension of transmission, these two terminologies “MHz” and “Mbps” are often used and are confused by common people. Sample task: convert 32 megabytes to megabits (binary, also MiB to Mbits). More examples and a conversion table are below for your convenience. Both operations are not easy to do in your mind, so having a converter handy is recommended, especially if more than one calculation is needed.Īn alternative calculation route is to convert one of the metrics to bits, for example the megabits, and then, using your chosen MB convention, to convert the bits to MBs. ![]() In the binary convention you multiply by 8.388608. To convert from megabytes to megabits under the SI convention you simply multiply by 8. It is wrongly called "internet speed" in common language. The second difference is in application: where MB are mostly used when talking about data stored on a drive or in computer memory, the mbit is used to describe bandwidth - the capacity of a connection to transfer a given amount of data in a given slice of time. The major difference is in the amount of information (data) each unit represents, with the megabyte representing significantly more data (~8 times more) than the megabit, depending on the definition of the MB you use. Make sure you know which definition of the megabyte you need to use in your particular situation, and simply flip the SI switch to the right position in our MB to mbit converter above. There is no wrong or right, though the binary definition is more widespread, while the decimal one is adopted by more organizations like the IEE, IEC, NIST, ISO. While both definitions use 8-bit bytes, both use the same term - megabyte, and same symbol - MB, to describe different quantities of bytes. Using the decimal definition, adopted by the International System of Units (SI) in which a megabyte is 10 6 bytes exactly 8 megabits equal one megabyte. In the binary definition of the megabyte as 2 20 bytes 8.3886 megabits equal 1 megabyte.

If you have a video with an odd aspect ratio, such as 16:10, then reprocess it to a popular widescreen width while keeping the height in proportion. Yesterday’s most popular format had a 4:3 aspect ratio, which used to be the standard for TV sets and early monitors. ![]() You can also use 1024 x 576, 1600 x 900, 2560 x 1440 and other resolutions while keeping the aspect ratio the same. Today’s most popular video format has a 16:9 aspect ratio, which is widescreen. Here’s a guide to the most common resolutions for people who can’t divide 1024 by 576 in their heads. If you don’t, clocks will no longer look round and faces will be distorted so they are either squashed or elongated like a Modigliani portrait. When reducing video resolutions, it is very important to keep the same aspect ratio (width to height). Reducing the resolution of a video is an excellent way of cutting the file size, but may be detrimental in the long run. (It stops the sound going out of sync.) Aspect ratios Pro tip: Handbrake can convert a smartphone’s variable frame rate videos to a constant frame rate for editing. There are lots of programs that will do this job, so it’s just a question of finding one you like. Any Video Converter reduced it to 7.6MB with a noticeable loss of visual quality. HandBrake reduced it to 21.3MB but worked the processor harder and took a minute longer. I used WonderFox’s free HD Video Converter Factory, which reduced the video to 24MB in less than 20 seconds. And while it no longer filled my 4K screen, it still looked good quality to me. ![]() Reducing the resolution from 3840 x 2160 pixels (UHD) to 1280 x 720 (HD) cut the file size from 165MB to 24MB, so I could almost fit seven videos into the space previously occupied by one. It has been shot from a drone so perhaps not a phone, but either way, this 63-second video takes up 165MB. If you just want to look at it, it’s also on YouTube. To get some real numbers, I downloaded 4K Sample2.mp4 from the Samsung section of Ashok Patel’s AppsLoveWorld website, which offers a few free mp4 video files for testing or demo purposes. If you wanted to customise the video for a Windows laptop with a screen resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels (1MB per screen), you could make it much smaller. Even with compression, 30 frames per second adds up. Your Samsung Galaxy S10 can shoot videos at an even higher resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels or UHD (ultra-high definition), where a full screen image needs 8,294,400 pixels or 7.9MB – more than six times as much. Photograph: Jack Schofield/YouTubeĪ standard computer screen with a resolution of 1280 x 1024 shows 1,310,720 pixels, which is 1.25MB. The resolution of the video – the number of pixels on screen at any one time – has a huge impact on the resulting file size, but also how good it looks on modern screens. However, losing a 2GB video of your holiday or a kid’s birthday party will hurt more than losing the odd photo. Of course, this also applies to personal photos and audio files. Always keep external backups of original files, and always work with copies. In the long run, you will need every pixel you can get.īefore we get to the details, a warning: never edit an original video file. So, always shoot at the highest resolution that’s practical, and keep it. Screen resolutions keep increasing, and 640 x 480-pixel VGA videos that used to fill a screen now look tiny on today’s 3840 x 2160-pixel 4K screens. You can also use cheap or free online storage at sites such as pCloud, Mega.nz, MediaFire and Yandex.Disk. Disk drives are cheap, and a £70 4TB drive can hold thousands of videos. In general, however, it’s a bad idea to reduce the size of irreplaceable videos just to save space. You might want to send the video to someone else reducing the file size will reduce the upload and download times. You might also want to fit several videos on a device with limited storage, such as a smartphone or tablet, or an optical disc such as a CD-Rom or DVD. For example, you might want to customise a high-resolution video for a low-resolution screen. There are some good reasons for reducing video file sizes. ![]() Also, I might not just focus on upgrading each resource storage type one by one. However, I might not strictly do one defense at a time. Namely, I’m looking at Rocket Launchers and Boom Cannons to start. Since those are comparatively cheap, I want to save my Mega Crab and Imitation Game events for big defense upgrades. Pretty much my initial goal will be to upgrade a bunch of Iron Storage units. I believe the Mega Crab should be on for this weekend (haven’t seen the icon) which means I can push for at least one LC24 and possibly get that other LC to 23.įor my main, a lot of possibilities will open up. My secondary account also started a 6th LC24 and still has another LC23 and LC22 left. I imagine Rocket and Shock Launchers to be this combo’s worst enemy but you should have plenty of GBE to take these out.Įither way, I’m happy that’s done with. Here, you probably just need 2 boats of Heavies and can toss 4 boats to Bombardiers. ![]() The Cryos and Heavies would make the best use of the extra space. It’s a better long range version of the Zooka except slightly more GBE heavy with less troops but slightly more life. Instead, the solution was to take out the medics in favor of another boat of Bombardiers.Īnother possibility is to use Cryo + Heavies + Bombardiers + Medics. I chatted with someone else who used a similar combo with medics thrown in but found that the close range of the Mechs to obliterate the medics. The other load out I thought about trying was some sort of Mech + Bombardier combo. But I checked out a few videos and realized that it might very hard to pull off without sacrificing my non-GBE statues and going full boost each time. The most obvious usage would be all Scorchers. Right now, I’m not sure if I’ll utilize the full load out of an LC24 just yet. Finally, I was about 300k lower than what was needed for stone and used the supply ship to fill in the rest. Also, not getting hit for a few days practically let me save up a ton of materials. I had some good luck with the trader as well as big iron catches from OPs that allowed me to fill up quicker than expected. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting to hit LC 24 until Friday. Not quite as I just started to build the last LC 24 on my main account. However, all of the work done was completely worth the effort. Sitting on the spiky plastic grass with a bottle of apple juice I did a mental recap of the week. It also meant more challenging as I am still using the 70-200mm. Metering would be rendered close to useless, personal experience would outweigh the readings. In combination with the fact that it was a night game, it would be a challenge for both man and machine. Because of the location chosen for this game was outside the school, the field provided was a standard football field instead of a downscaled one. Everyone is quite satisfied with the chance to compensate for the losses. This was a huge blow to the members of the football team. Because of the pandemic, the ISL and SISAC football games were entirely cancelled. This was one of my most anticipated tasks. The final mission of the week is the Leaver’s Football Game at nighttime. In addition to the stereotypic views most have regarding black and white, I chose color as a final decision. However, black and white is generally more complicated than colored photographs. This can also be considered a tribute to the great correspondents and photojournalists who brought the stories to the eyes of people. It makes me more focused on presenting the story, utilizing the light sources, and framing the moment. ![]() This is simply because that black and white acts as a filter that would eliminate a lot of distracting factors of a photo. I am huge fan of black and white photography. That is not the effect I want for such an occasion. The compression between the foreground and background gives a distant, cold feeling to your photos. I am not a huge fan of focal lengths greater than 50mm when it comes to documenting these special moments. Two, the concept of decisive moments and it’s association to Leica and this specific focal length. This combination was chosen for two reasons: One, the water battle on the 28 th. For this event I selected my beloved Leica M10-P “Safari” with a Zeiss Distagon 35mm f1.4 lens. For this week, it marks the eventual end to the Graduation week celebrations. Even at the new campus, this must continue, even with the absence of an actual pond. The tradition of tossing Oxbridge students into the pond has been around for a long time. I grief for their departure but also feel happy for their bright futures. ![]() For some, this may be the last game of their career in SCIE. Their games are definitely worth watching and even more worthy to photograph. Their unit cohesion, passion for sport, and the dynamics of their game can even be compared to large official games that can be seen on television. Every one of them are incredible athletes with amazing wills to cooperate. I deeply respect every member of the SCIE sport teams. Mainly because the effect of the photos was splendid, and no one actually blasted me with water. Then what came to my mind was famous photographer Robert Capa’s words: “If your photos are not good enough, you are not close enough.” So, I made the decision to hop over the boundaries and enter the premises. ![]() Attempting to shoot without entering the perimeters of the battle. I stood on the edge of the court with my work camera. Shooting against the light direction is no big problem this time as water droplets glowing under sunlight is a bonus effect that adds more astonishing details to the photos. The only difficulty was the fear of getting splashed. In addition, I was also tasked with photographing the leaver’s Volleyball Game that happens after the battle. We will be photographing the famous water battle that happens annually. However, the mission will be hard on the 28 th. There were no new tasks for us to perform. Thanks to the support person who came wit.On the 27 th we were able to rest and regroup. I would definitely recommend them to anybody interested, you will be so happy when you see the fantastic photos they produce for the birthday party of my baby!! Lovely and cared for environment, courteous and professional staff. They were very reliable, trustworthy and very committed. So the photos from the birthday party were very natural, but at the same time, we got lots of very cool, more arty and unusual photos as well. I could see that he does the perfect mix of candid and posed photos. The price is right he is with all the energy that they put for my baby. However, the best part is how he managed my baby to take photos. In addition to taking photos, he is friendly, very cooperative. ![]() An Act of Parliament was first obtained in 1796, which authorised the construction of new quays and dredging of the Haven to make it deeper. The small village of Grimsby grew to become the largest fishing port in the world by the mid 19th century. This revolutionary design made large scale trawling in the ocean possible for the first time, resulting in a massive migration of fishers from the ports in the South of England, to villages further north, such as Scarborough, Hull, Grimsby, Harwich and Yarmouth, that were points of access to the large fishing grounds in the Atlantic Ocean. The painting is now in the National Maritime Museum. Painting of A Brixham trawler by William Adolphus Knell. The great trawling fleet that built up at Brixham earned the village the title of 'Mother of Deep-Sea Fisheries'. They were also sufficiently robust to be able to tow large trawls in deep water. The Brixham trawler that evolved there was of a sleek build and had a tall gaff rig, which gave the vessel sufficient speed to make long-distance trips out to the fishing grounds in the ocean. By the early 19th century, the fishers at Brixham needed to expand their fishing area further than ever before due to the ongoing depletion of stocks that was occurring in the overfished waters of South Devon. The British dogger was a very early type of sailing trawler from the 17th century, but the modern fishing trawler was developed in the 19th century, at the English fishing port of Brixham. However, where there are early examples of permanent settlements (though not necessarily permanently occupied) such as those at Lepenski Vir, they are almost always associated with fishing as a major source of food. The term fishing broadly includes catching aquatic animals other than fish, such as crustaceans ( shrimp/ lobsters/ crabs), shellfish, cephalopods ( octopus/ squid) and echinoderms ( starfish/ sea urchins).
